Voice Have Power

After a while of looking at website designs, they all start looking the same in terms of their structure, so I find it harder to find something with a different structure than everything else.

This website has a grid structure, but what makes it different are the blocks they use to section each piece of information. The blocks themselves are not too consistent, so it doesn't feel too repetitive until you get down to the tweets. The tweets are also in blocks and I appreciate the size of the block to give the tweet space to stand on it's own.

Destiny

The website is beautifully done. It's for the video game Destiny, so I think it's totally appropriate for them to use over sized images to showcase the game. The page that I think is most impressive is the landing page where you select what plant you want to go to because of the movement and text that fades in and out. It looks like there are a lot of layers of movement to it because not only do the planets move relative to their distance, but so does the lens flare and the stars in the background.

Only

I really like the swiss design with this website. It's really clean, simple, and modern. There is a little animation for the color block with text, just enough to capture your interest, but not enough to distract you from the actual content of the site. They put the nav bar in a hidden menu which reduces the "clutter" at the top, and when you click on it, the menu fills up the space. It's really subtle, but I really like the transition of the "x out" button when you exit the menu. The animation is very fluid and really connects the menu to the actual site.

Nice and Serious

The landing animation is really nice because it captures your interest without having to sit through a whole video. I like the irregular grid they have going on with their info/link boxes. When you hover over them, the image becomes smaller and blurry which allows the text that appears to stand out. It goes against what I typically expect to happen (where an image usually gets bigger when hovered over) which is why I found it interesting. They have some jittering going on on their work page when you hover over the images, but other than that, I think it's a well designed website.

Clumpies

Clumpies Ice cream has an infinite scroll website, which is not that original, but what intrigued me the most was how they listed their ice cream flavors. To me, they are very appealing pictures of scoops of ice cream, but I really enjoy how they turn a little when you hover over them. It's visually more interesting and gives it character more so than if they kept the scoops static. The video at the top of the page is also well done and captivated my interest for several cycles. It's like ice cream porn. The only issue I see is that the music button on the video end up over rather than under the nav bar when you scroll up.
